Taking a rental onto the Curonian Spit
Nida and Juodkrantė are reached by the ferry from Klaipėda, followed by a national park entry fee per vehicle. Ferry and park fees are the driver's responsibility, and a few partners restrict high-value cars from the crossing entirely — worth confirming before you plan the trip.
The road down the Spit is 45 km of pine forest at 70 km/h, heavily policed in summer. It is a beautiful drive, not a fast one.
Supply and season
Outside July and August the local choice is thin and most cars are delivered from Vilnius. In peak weeks the opposite is true: cars are here, but they are booked.
Practicalities in the city
The Old Town has limited parking and the port area gets congested on cruise days. Most hotels have their own spaces, and partners will normally deliver to the hotel address.

- Delivery options may be available depending on the rental partner, the city and the time of day. It is often free within the city centre and charged as a fixed fee outside it.
- Can I drive the car outside Lithuania?
- Sometimes. Travel to Latvia, Estonia and Poland is often possible with prior written approval and occasionally an extra fee; some partners exclude high-value cars entirely. Tell us your route in the request and we will only send options that allow it.
- How far in advance should I book?
- For a specific model in summer, two to four weeks is realistic. Weddings and public holidays go earlier. Last-minute requests are still worth sending — we will tell you honestly what is free.
- Can I take the rental car on the ferry to Neringa?
- Usually yes on standard premium cars, subject to the partner's agreement. Some exclude exotics. Ferry tickets and the Curonian Spit entry fee are paid by the driver.
